The fun of working for a large corporation. Policies that make no sense and restrict harmless behavior, because there is no foreseeable advantage to the company. This is a recent email from HR. I’m sure its against policy to post it.
In order to be in compliance with the recently communicated employee handbook, we will be reviewing our bulletin board procedures. More specifically, as outlined in the employee handbook under Solicitations and Distribution of Literature on page 64: To maintain an effective avenue for communicating with employees, the Company maintains bulletin boards. Bulletin boards are to used by the Company to communicate official government information on equal employment opportunity, wage and hour, health and safety and other issues. They are also used to communicate information regarding the Company’s policies, business and announcments including, but not limited to, job postings, safety rules, health items, benefit programs, and notices announcing special Company-sponsored events. Employees may not post, tape, tack, or affix any form of literature, printed or written material, photographs or notices of any kind on the Company’s bulletin boards. Likewise, the Company’s bulletin boards may not be used by employees or outside parties for the posting of commercial notices and advertisements, announcements and witticisms, sales of personal property or any other matters. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me.
Therefore, these items specified above can no longer be posted on the bulletin boards.
