Watering the clay soil is not like biodynamics describes. The best method seems to be slow water over 1-2 hr. Since the beds are dug up, when the soil is saturated the excess will come out the slope of the beds. The tops .25-1” may still look dry and cracked.

Digging the clay fluffs the soil and moves surface dead plant material under, but at first the bed looks horrible and won’t hold water. This is best done during the rainy season. Water helps restore the original consistency. Can’t decide if digging is good or bad. Digging adds 1-3” per event. You get raised beds by default. Use a regular shovel year 1 and a longer, narrow shovel thereafter.

Weeding while the weeds are seedlings is very relaxing. Good stretch by either bending at the hips, yoga helps, or squatting. I’ve pulled so many baby weeds that there are none left. Do this every day. Grass is the worst weed.

Parsley should be planted in fall, not spring. It’s crazy to see a winter hardy plant sold in the spring. Sowing Parsley seed in the spring won’t give sprouts for 2 months or so.
